For those of you who know me, know that I love celebrating my birthday. I was always the crazy one who didn't mind the sombrero or the mariachis at the Mexican food restaurant. The more obnoxious attention, the better! But as 30 crept up this year, I wasn't quite sure how I would take it. Needless to say, I had mixed emotions about this milestone. So, Greg & I talked about it and decided (well, I decided) we would have a mild celebration with just ourselves. He was going to surprise me with the restaurant of his choosing. I was so excited that he was taking pride in researching new restaurants and picking a special one. So, the Saturday before my birthday came around and we got dolled up for our night out. When we got to the restaurant, Ibiza, I was super excited because I had wanted to try this one for quite a while. He checked in with the hostess and told her we had reservations in the "lounge". I got excited that we seemed to be getting the VIP treatment. She escorted us around the corner to what looked like a private room. And sure enough, SURPRISE, my family and friends were there to help me welcome in the next decade of my life :) Jill & Greg did such a great job organizing and rounding up my fabulous friends! We enjoyed a wonderful night of cocktails, dinner, and bowling at Lucky Strikes downtown. I was so thankful that Jill was home from the hospital and well enough to be there to celebrate with me. It would not have been the same without her.
Here are a few pictures from the evening. Thanks to all my friends
for coming out, and especially to my sweet sister and husband for making me feel so special at 30! And you know what...30 feels quite nice!
