Happy Mother's Day!

Sunday Greg & I spent the day in the kitchen (and at the grill) cooking up a small feast for my family. It was nice to honor Mom & Jill on this special day for everything they do for us! I am so lucky to have a Mother & Sister (who is also a fabulous mother) that I can call my best friends! The weather was beautiful so we enjoyed it on our new back patio (details to come in a future blog).

Here's Uncle Greg with his favorite girls!

And here's the McAdams' girls. You know, we have always been told we look alike. Jill and I have even been mistaken as twins, but I just never have really seen it. But something about this picture makes me see how much we DO look alike. You can really see our "Taylor eyes" :-) I couldn't be more proud to look like these two beautiful women!

Here's one of all the girls...we couldn't leave out the little ones! Notice that Kate wasn't really into the pictures. She was too busy keeping an eye on Mr. Vegas. She's not quite as keen on him as her sister.

xoxo,

Aloha from Hawaii!

Greg and I have been talking about taking another "big" vacation ever since we got back from our Honeymoon last year. We've accrued so many airline miles, so we wanted to take advantage soon. We tossed around the idea of Europe but just couldn't get the scheduling down (I guess we'll take that one when we retire). Well, we finally decided to do a week in Hawaii. Greg had never been and I had only done a quick trip to Honolulu back in college for a conference. And let me tell you...Hawaii did not disappoint! We did a lot of relaxing on the beach and managed to squeeze in some tourist attractions.

The first two nights we stayed on Waikiki beach. We knew we did not want to miss the opportunity to visit Pearl Harbor.

Then we puddle-jumped on over to Maui and stayed in beautiful Lahaina at the Westin Maui. We loved the resort so much...complete with Flamingos in the lobby! In Maui, we went to the Old Lahaina luau and spent a lot of time exploring the beaches. I learned that I am NOT a snorkeler after getting pummeled with a huge wave! I think I'll catch some rays while watching Greg snorkel.

And we rounded out the trip on the island of Kauai. Personally, it was my absolute favorite! The nature & scenery was so beautiful! Of course, it was a little more "remote" than the other islands, but it was a perfect place to relax and take it all in. We went on a tubing trip down the old sugar plantation irrigation canals. And we also took a catamaran tour of the Na Pali coast line. And W-O-W! What a sight it was! We were lucky enough to see sea turtles, dolphins and humpback whales on the ride out to the coast.

It was hard to come back to reality, but now we can look forward to our next Hawaiian adventure!

xoxo,
