25 Weeks and Counting

Hope you all had a nice weekend!  We sure did around here.  No weekend commitments, so Greg worked on a little project of Mr. Man's room.  I can't wait to blog about the finished product, but there are a few more steps to take care of.  Sorry I missed my 24 week update.  Last weekend just got away from me, so we'll do a 25 week update instead.  I can honestly say I took a major "growth spurt" this month.  There's officially no hiding the bump anymore (not that I want to).  But for while, there were times when I bordered the "is she fat or is she pregnant" line.  I'm definitely embracing my bump and loving every minute of it!

How far along -  25 weeks, 2 days
Size -  Baby Smith is about the size of a papaya...he's over a foot long and about 1 1/2 lbs.  Something I read said my uterus is the size of a soccer ball...Whoa!!!

Maternity clothes - Still rocking the maternity pants all the time.  I can make a few regular shirts work but most everything is maternity these days.

Weight gain -I took a jump this month and had a panic attack in the doctors office.  She reassured me that I'm still properly on track.  I guess I will have to take her word for it.
Stretch marks - Still good in that department.

Sleep - Some nights are better than others.  I still wake up at least once a night, but usually go back to sleep easily.  I guess it's Mother Nature's way of getting us moms ready for nighttime feedings.

Movement -Oh yeah!  He's definitely moving and kicking!  I love feeling those little kicks and I'm enjoying them while they're gentle.  I hear they can get pretty painful towards the end.

Food I'm loving - That sweet tooth is still reeking havoc, but I'm trying to keep it in check.  Glucose test in 2 weeks!  Eeek!!

Food I'm hating - I really haven't been too picky lately...just shying away from things that give me heartburn.

Symptoms - Still blessed to be feeling great!  My nose has been constantly stuffed up, but nothing I can't live with.

Gender - IT'S A BOY! I love learning more about being a "Boy Mom" and picking out things for his nursery.

What I'm looking forward to - Getting ready for the holidays and taking maternity pictures.  We're kind of taking them a little early (I wish the bump was a little bigger), but I really wanted to use them for our Christmas cards.  I guess I can stick it out as far as I can ;-)

What I miss -My motivation to work out.  I have big intentions of working out, but I'm just so tired and "blah" that I can't get into it.

Emotions -Nothing too crazy this month...luckily no major breakdowns to speak of.

I really cannot believe we are already well into our 6th month!  Where has this pregnancy gone?  Hopefully we should be receiving his furniture in couple weeks so I'll be able to a nursery update.  I've been busy prepping the accessories for this room and can't wait to get it all put together!

Oh How Pinteresting...Nursery Edition

Happy Hump Day, Peeps!  This week, my house looks like we're moving.  Everything is down off of our walls and the painters are there painting (most) of the house.  Most exciting part...Little Man's room is being painted so we finally can start decorating!

It's been a while since I've linked up with Michelle at The Vintage Apple,
but since I'm in full-blown nursery planning mode, I figured I'd share some of the great ideas I've found on good ole' Pinterest!  The "theme" we're going with is not so much a theme, as it is a color palette.  Even before I knew our baby was a boy, I was in love with the colors navy & lime green.  I'm going to throw in some light blue in there for good measure, but wanted the colors to be something he could grow into.

I found this picture and knew I had to have a navy blue accent wall, so a navy blue wall I'm getting!  It might even be there when I get home today!

These rugby striped window panels go perfectly with his bedding!

This little guy is on Etsy and matches the room perfectly!  My Mom saved my childhood rocking chair, so I'm thinking he might be perfect for the chair.

When we bought our baby furniture, we didn't get a bookshelf, but the more I think about it, the more I think we will need one.  I'm in love with the Pottery Barn Cameron bookshelf and this is the instructions on how to make it yourself.  I've already lined Hubby and his brother up to make this a weekend project sometime this fall!

These are a couple prints I've found that may be a cute addition to his room. The second one is the perfect explanation how I feel about this baby.  He is the answer to all my prayers!

I have a little project up my sleeve involving his monogram...I will share if and when it turns out okay :-)

These fabric covered canvases are too cute and seemed to be an easy project for his wall.

I can't wait for his furniture to get here so we can see it all come together.  Until then, I will be brainstorming, Pinteresting, and working on projects to get ready to put his room together!

Welcome to the Family, Mrs. Smith!

As of this past weekend, I officially have a new sister!  Laura finally made an honest man out of Geoff, Greg's little brother.  You all may remember their beautiful proposal just about a year ago in Key West.  This beautiful country wedding was planned over the year by Geoff and Laura and their families and it was a day to remembered by all!

We started off the weekend at the rehearsal and dinner hosted by my lovely in-laws, Bob & Cindy.  It was a lot of fun to get together with everyone in a casual setting and celebrate Laura and Geoff and their wedding party.

Clockwise from top left:  Josh & Mallory; the Bride & her Maids; the Happy Couple; our hosts for the evening, Bob & Cindy; the groom with his groomsmen & ushers;Terrence & Kristina, the other newlyweds; and me and my Expert Best Man!

The next morning, while the boys tried their hand at hunting some birds, the ladies headed to the salon to get pretty for the big day.  This is one of my favorite parts of being a bridesmaid!  It's always so fun to get all glammed up!

And the finished product!

Then is was time for what we had all been waiting for!

My sweet sister, Jill, grabbed my camera for the ceremony and caught some great pics!

After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed a yummy dinner and then quickly hit the dance floor to cut a rug!

Baby Kicks

It's Sunday night and I am too pooped to pop!  Greg & I had a wonderful weekend at his brother's wedding, and I promise to do a full update later this week when I'm rested and in my right set of mind.

But, I have some exciting news!  This baby boy is KICKIN'!

I've been feeling the flutters for some time, but I think now I'm officially recognizing his kung fu moves.  Definitely a pattern to them.  I tried to get Greg to feel them too, but of course as soon as he felt my belly, Little Man took a rest.  I guess it was the excitement from the weekend that got this guy moving :-)  What an amazing feeling!  I love getting a reminder of the miracle that is growing inside of there!!!

Showering Baby Peyton

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to help host a baby shower for my friend and former co-worker, Katie, and her Baby Girl to be, Peyton.  Peyton is scheduled to arrive in about 2 weeks and I cannot wait to meet her!  You may remember her parents from their beautiful wedding last summer!  I co-hosted with 3 of Katie's friends from college who I got to know through her wedding festivities.  Considering all four of us live in different cities stretching from Texas to California, the details came together perfectly!  It's amazing what can be accomplished over emails.  The theme was "Vintage Pink" and all the pink details were so precious!

Shower decorations

Yummy food!  And check out those precious "Rattle" cake pops!
So, I took this opportunity to work on a little project that has been brewing in my brain for some time.  And this ribbon hospital wreath was the final product!  I used the colors from Peyton's nursery and made the "baby stat plaque" removable, so that we could remove it for the shower.  I plan on making something along these lines for Baby Smith, but of course we'll need to "Boy" it up!

Katie's new nephew, Jack, even made an appearance.  He was so good and didn't even make a peep!

Granny and Aunt-to-Be!
We all are anxiously awaiting Miss Peyton's arrival this month!  And, personally, I cannot wait to see her sports-lovin', all boy family, Daddy with his baby girl :-)  Katie & Stephen, congratulations!  You two will be amazing parents!!
