Rhett's Baptism

On Mother's Day, Greg and I had Rhett baptized.  Doing this on Mother's Day meant a lot to me, as I was also baptized on Mother's Day 32 years ago.

My Baptism Day
We were so honored to have Rev. Charles Ruehl come back from retirement to perform the ceremony. Rev. Ruehl is such an important part of our lives because he married us, along with my sister and brother-in-law, and also baptized both of our nieces.  He and his wife, Phoebe, are like a part of our extended family!

It was so wonderful to have both of our families there to witness this beautiful sacrament and celebrate Rhett.

Our Little Family

It was a gorgeous day, so we got some great pictures with Rhett's grandparents and aunts & uncles (and cousins too!).  This little boy is definitely blessed with so many people who love him!

This day meant so much to our family, as it is the beginning of Rhett's life in the church.  I am looking forward to many years of Sunday school, VBS, and children's choir for Rhett.  I hope that he is able to make the same church memories as a child that I did.

God Bless Rhett Warren

Who could not fall in love with this little face?

My First Mother's Day

I have to say that my first Mother's Day was better than I ever imagined!  It started off Friday when I took Mr. Man to school.  His teacher gave me the present that he "made" for me this week!  Talk about choking back the tears!  I have a feeling I will have this one forever.

On Sunday, we started our day off with Rhett's Baptism (a separate post on that later).  Greg and I were so blessed to have both of our moms with us on Mother's Day this year!  We all got together after church to celebrate Rhett as well as the Moms with a yummy Mexican meal.

After everyone left, Greg & Rhett spoiled me with my Mother's Day gifts...new crochet Toms and a DSW gift card.  Obviously, my boys know the way to my heart...through SHOES!

All I can say is that I am so thankful God blessed me with Rhett and I am so lucky to be his Mommy!  I could not love my little boy any more!

Rhett's 3 Month Update

Oh, Rhett!  My little cowboy, Mr. Man, Rhettski!  I can't believe you are a quarter of a year old!  I know it's so cliche, but where has the time gone??

This has been a big month for you.  I haven't weighed you lately, but I think you are well over 14 lbs.  You are wearing size 1 diapers, but I think your days are numbered on those, so I'm not buying them in bulk.  You know who your Mommy and Daddy are and smile back at us all the time and laugh at us when we act silly.  You really love listening to music and it seems to calm you down when you are upset.  Lately, you enjoy napping in your swing (which you weren't a fan of at first) and sitting in your Bumbo chair.  You're sleeping at least 8 hours every night (with the occasional mid-night wake up) and this makes Mommy very happy.  We've stopped swaddling your arms at night and it doesn't seem to bother you at all...still sleeping like a champ!

This biggest milestone this month was that you started SCHOOL!  Mommy had to go back to work, so we faced the bittersweet day of taking you to school to meet new friends.  Although it's only the first week, you have seemed to have adapted very well and we couldn't be happier with your teachers.  I know you are going to meet so many friends there and make many memories.

I managed to get you to the photographer last week for your 3 month pictures.  They were running a little behind so we almost missed the infant "window of opportunity" but were able to get a few great ones of your sweet little face!

As I look back at these pictures, I cannot get over how much you have grown!  You are becoming such a handsome boy and I love watching you grow every day (but feel free to slow it down a little)!

Chillin' at the Bama Breeze

Hey folks!  Sorry I have been MIA...I'm officially a working Mommy now and I'm slowly learning how to balance my time.  We're getting there and I know it will only get easier... Little Guy started "school" and minimal tears were shed (I know...I'm surprised too!).  Anyways, I have so much to catch you up on, but I'll start with the most recent weekend first.

This past weekend, we had our annual trip to Margaritaville!  It's always a blast to get together with friends and family for the Jimmy Buffett concert.  But it was our first night away from Rhett, so it was definitely bittersweet.  I didn't worry a bit though because he was in great hands of a few good babysitters back home!

Enjoying the "tropics" of Dallas...and look!  Even Skeeter got festive!

A few of the crazy things we saw including "Drunk Plinko" and Rustin's awesome Reagan hat circa '84

Meanwhile, back at home, Rhett was enjoying some "cousin lovin'" with the girls!  Aunt Jill & Uncle Tommy were kind enough to keep Mr. Man overnight for us and get a sneak peak at what it would have been like to have a boy.  Thank you Jill for sending me plenty of iphone pics to keep me sane!

Two great sitters
Going on a walk

Greg & I enjoyed our night out but I was waking him up at dawn to hit the road home to see my boy!  One night away was plenty...and it was good practice for our Montreal trip next month.
